Laboratory of Biochemistry of Amines and Cyclic Nucleotides
ABOUT LABORATORY
| Laboratory of Biochemistry of Amines and Cyclic Nucleotides (initially Laboratory of Biochemistry of Amines and Other Nitrogenous Bases) was organized in 1962, by initiative of Academician A.E.Braunstein. During 32 years it was directed by Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences V.Z.Gorkin. Since 1994 the Laboratory is directed Professor A.E.Medvedev
The Laboratory specializes on studies of - Molecular mechanisms of action of an endogenous regulator isatin (indole-2,3-dione) and its role in neurodegenerative pathology;
- molecular mechanisms of functioning of amine oxidases and receptor guanylate cyclases in health and pethology;
- pharmacological regulation of amine oxidases and guanylate cyclases;
- study of monoamine oxidase (MAO) independent regulatory mechanisms of MAO inhibitors
