ABOUT LABORATORY

The basic direction of research in our laboratory is the performance of basic and applied studies in proteomics and clinical diagnostics by means of nanotechnological devices. Investigations are carried out using devices on the basis of AFM (atomic force microscope), electron microscope, mass spectrometer, nanowire molecular detector and laser correlation spectrometer.

AFM gives the opportunity to visualize and carry out the direct counting of the individual protein macromolecules and their complexes. By means of AFM the following investigations of the different bioobjects (proteins, oligonucleotides) are conducted:

  1. AFM-visualization of the single molecules and biomolecular complexes.
  2. Development of the fundamentals of the single biomolecules detection from the analytes using an AFM and a biospecific fishing combination.
  3. Creation of the AFM-nanobiochips for clinical proteomics.
  4. Single molecule enzymology AFM-investigation.
  5. Creation of a combined system of AFM/mass spectrometer for clinical diagnostics problems.
The applied research directions:
  1. Сreation of the highly sensitive devices for clinical diagnostics, in particular the atomic force diagnostic complexes with highly sensitive AFM-nanobiochips for the infectious and oncological diseases diagnostics. Such complexes enable to carry out diagnostics at a single molecule level. Today these complexes exist as laboratory prototypes. The serial production is restricted for lack of medical market for high tech products in this area.
  2. Creation of the highly sensitive nanowire molecular detectors for the diagnostics of infectious and oncological diseases at the level of single viral and microbial particles (coupled with ISP SB RAS).
  3. Creation of the nanochips on the basis of the multichannel nanowire molecular detectors for clinical proteomics (coupled with ISP SB RAS).
