Abstract:

Postmortem skin samples of 50 women aged from 15 to 90 years were analysed. Protein and DNA levels were stable rather age-independent.Glycosaminoglycane (GAG) level decreased during ageing accordingly linear regression equation: Age = 100.1562 - 0.3578xGAG.

Key words: Age-related changes, proteoglycanes, glycosaminoglycanes, DNA, protein, gerontology.
